I must be crazy to want to build a garden like this. I am too old. I am too tired. I am too busy. I will never find the time. I don't have the money to do this. I don't have the physical strength. I will never be able to do it. All that will grow will be weeds. It is a waste of money and time. This is just another one of my crazy ideas that will give me more trouble than it is worth. I can buy my vegetables cheaper than trying to grow them... etc etc etc!
Every one of these excuses are true and yet this garden is on my Bucket List.
I found this picture back in 2013 and it filled my imagination with the possibilities of building a beautiful garden like this on my small piece of property. I printed and pasted the picture in my journal back then and in every new journal since. Now it is in my 2016 journal just waiting for me to do something about it and I think that it is time. I used to jokingly say that I would turn my property into a small version of Metis Gardens. It was a wish for someday in the years ahead.
Maybe I have finally caught up to my future because despite how busy I am right now, I really want to start working on it. It makes no sense and yet I am going to try.
Of course I could tear the page out of my journal and just forget about it. It would certainly save me a lot of work, but that would seem wrong for some reason. I remember pasting a picture of a greenhouse in that same 2013 journal and I got it because I built it myself. So I guess I will try and build a small somewhat look a like version of this garden and see what happens. It may take me a few years to do it, but I will enjoy the process.
I will call it "The Tiny Patch Garden". Here's to a lot of hard work, a few miracles and some fairy dust and dirt!
