Life has mown you down.
You’re ravaged by the constant waves,
so high you fear you’ll drown.
You’re broken, battered, sore and raw.
Darkness is descending.
The life you knew seems far away,
this ‘phase’ seems never ending.
You’re weary, worn, tired and torn.
It’s hard to see that light.
The days seem long, the highs seem few,
you're haunted by the night.
You’re broken, battered, sore and raw.
But darling, don’t forget.
You’ve been this low and more before,
You’re not defeated yet.
You’re weary, worn, tired and torn,
But you know the way this plays.
You’ll find that well of inner strength,
You’ll swim to better days.
